I defend healthcare providers in claims of alleged medical malpractice and matters arising before the Boards of Registration in Medicine and Dentistry and the Board of Registration in Nursing. I have successfully defended through trial numerous medical malpractice and other claims involving significant bodily injury before the Superior Court.
Clients include all healthcare professionals (doctors, physician assistants, nurses, pharmacists, and physical therapists), accountants, architects, real estate agents, and countless other licensed professionals with distinct licensure cases. Complaints against other types of professionals sometimes include issues of misrepresenting having the required degree or making other inappropriate representations.
My focus also includes the highly niche area of licensure representation. I have dedicated my legal career to zealously presenting professionals who have had the misfortune of receiving a licensure complaint or a notice of licensure investigation. I represent highly sophisticated clients and understand that a license is an individual’s career, recognizing that the stakes could not be higher. Especially for those in the medical field, the damage to their reputation, professional and otherwise, is immense.
In early 2026, my law firm was retained by the American Medical Association and the Massachusetts Medical Society to assist in the preparation and submission of an amicus curiae brief in connection with ongoing litigation arising from the Steward Health Care bankruptcy.
I have achieved the AV Preeminent Rating, the highest possible rating from Martindale-Hubbell Peer Review Ratings. I have been selected for inclusion in Boston’s Top Lawyers and Super Lawyers Magazines and was selected to the International Association of Defense Counsel, an elite organization of less than 2,500 peer-reviewed counsel and insurance executives from every American state and thirty-five countries on five continents.
In 2023, for the Massachusetts Continuing Legal Education (MCLE), I published a manual for new attorneys on how to manage licensure issues, and how to effectively represent their clients facing criminal prosecution. I have been invited by the MCLE to lecture young attorneys in methods of trial practice. In 2015, I have served as Chairperson for MCLE’s program “How to Try a Civil Case.” In that same year, I was a guest speaker at Converys’ 2015 Annual National Claims Conference which included leading medical malpractice attorneys from across the country.
I also have been published in a trial advocacy treatise. I am currently the lead author on a multi-volume book on medical malpractice, which will be the first of its kind in Massachusetts, and I have been published in MCLE’s “Licensing of Physicians.”
Organizations I am privileged to belong to include the International Association of Defense Counsel and the American Association of Nurse Attorneys.
I received a Bachelor of Arts from Boston College and graduated cum laude from Suffolk University Law School with a Juris Doctor. I am admitted to the state and federal bars in Massachusetts, New Hampshire, and Rhode Island.
